2024 CALENDAR: WONDROUS WESTFJORDS

The 2024 INLNA Calendar features the Westfjords as seen by the participants of our 2022 INLNA Tour. Lonely Planet declared the Westfjords of Iceland as their number one region to visit in the world in 2022. “Famous for remote, scenic spots, the Westfjords make for an unforgettable getaway. Untouched by mass tourism, the area looks like its trying to escape, it’s clutch of finger-like fjords reaching out towards Greenland.” Such a vivid and accurate description.

2023 CALENDAR: SPECTACULAR South Iceland

The 2023 INLNA Calendar features Souths Iceland which is one of the most beautiful and most visited regions of Iceland. Visit Iceland (visiticeland.com) describes the South Region as “an astonishing medley of waterfalls, glaciers and famous black sand beaches, home to the biggest glacier in Europe and a gateway to some of the most beautiful hiking areas in Iceland.”

In 2019, the INLNA organized a 100 Year INLNA Anniversary Tour to Iceland and forty-seven enthusiastic individuals toured the country enjoying the diversity of hot springs and glaciers, waterfalls and geysers, black sandy beaches and majestic mountains. The photographs in this calendar were submitted by tour participants and allow a glimpse into the beauty of Iceland.

Thank you to all those who submitted photos, Bev Arason-Gaudet and Marlene Linneberg on our Calendar Committee, and Natalie Guttormsson of Hugsi Designs for designing the calendar.

The INLNA 2020 Calendar was created with the intention of providing members with a very basic introduction to the Icelandic language with conversation starters and basic vocabulary. The best way to achieve this is to also provide the audio, so you can hear how the pronunciation of how the words sound. Each month the INLNA will post audio files to the website that cover the monthly dialogues and corresponding vocabulary, as well as the word of the day for each month. The monthly word of the day lists will also be available to download or print with the corrections and updates mentioned in the audio.
