The Snorri Programs
The Icelandic National League of North America is proud to support the Snorri Programs, operated by the Snorri Foundation, a non-profit organization that operates the Snorri, Snorri Plus and the Snorri Alumni Internship programs. Co-operative partners are the Nordic Association, the Icelandic National League of the United States and the Icelandic National League of Iceland. We also work with the Snorri Foundation in operating the Snorri West Program.

Snorri
Application deadline: 13 January 2025
Program dates: 14 June – 21 July, 2025
Snorri West
Application deadline: 17 February 2025
Program dates: will be confirmed and posted in early January
Eastern Corridor (DC, Ontario, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia)
Snorri Plus
Registration deadline: 13 January 2025
Program dates: 17 August – 1 September, 2025
Snorri Alumni Internship
Application deadline: 6 January 2025
Dates: flexible, 6-12 weeks in June-August 2025
Program Information
Snorri Program
For whom? People of Icelandic descent, 20 – 30 years of age
When? 5 weeks in the summer (June - July)
Why? Because it will change your life!
Snorri Plus Program
For whom? Anyone age 30 and over – individuals, couples, friends, etc. Do not have to be of Icelandic descent.
When? 2 weeks in the summer (August)
Why? Because this trip is much more than you could ever imagine...experience your Icelandic heritage on a whole different level!
Snorri West Program
For whom? Icelanders aged 20 – 30 years
When? 4 weeks in the summer (June - July)
Why? Because Icelandic traditions and spirit remain strong in the world of Western Icelanders!
SNORRI ALUMNI INTERNSHIP AT ICELANDIC EMIGRATION CENTER IN HOFSÓS
For whom? Any alumni of the Snorri or Snorri Plus programs
When? Between 6 and 12 weeks in the summer
What? Volunteer with the dedicated team of the Emigration Center welcoming guests from all around the world and helping to fulfill the Center’s mission work. Assist on research projects developed in conjunction with the US or Canadian Embassies to help promote the strong cultural bonds between Iceland, Canada and the United States.
Scholarships
A number of scholarships are offered by local clubs and organizations to help cover the costs associated with these programs. Please note that all programs are non-profit. Local chapters and individuals of INLNA volunteer their time, accommodations and more to make the Snorri West program the experience of a lifetime.
