Our annual event 'Walk to the Rock' to honour our ancestors and to commemorate the date Iin 1875 they first landed on the shores of their New Iceland Settlement Reserve is coming up soon. 

Walk to the Rock —we meet at the New Iceland Heritage Museum (NIHM), Gimli Waterfront Centre at NOON on MONDAY, the 21st of OCTOBER for our walk to the Big Rock Pioneer Memorial on Willow Island.  This is about a 3.5 km walk through South Beach and along the lakeshore to Willow Island.   We'll return to the Lady of the Lake Theatre at NIHM for hot chocolate, coffee and goodies.
