LOOKING FOR THE HIDDEN FOLK - NANCY MARIE BROWN IN CONVERSATION WITH JOURNALIST & AUTHOR EGILL BJARNASON

On March 8th, 2023 at 12 pm EST author Nancy Marie Brown will be in conversation with author and journalist Egill Bjarnason discussing her new book Looking for the Hidden Folk: How Iceland’s Elves Can Save the Earth.

Egill Bjarnason is the author of the popular How Iceland Changed the World, which is just now released in paperback, and Nancy Marie Brown is an acclaimed author of several books that rewrite the story of Viking women in light of recent archaeological and historical evidence, restoring women to their full dimensionality as vibrant, active and independent agents in Viking history.
In Looking for the Hidden Folk: How Iceland’s Elves Can Save the Earth, Nancy Marie Brown turns her considerable talent to exploring our relationship to nature and searching in history, science, religion and art for a way to reconnect with the natural world as a path out of the looming environmental crisis we seem blindly stubble along. Brown explores how Icelanders live with nature in all its glory and drama, with its epic landscapes, and how their ancient (and modern) belief that elves live amongst us allows us to place a different value on nature. Brown opens us to a different perception of the environment as a crucial first step towards saving it. The book is fun and entertaining and fundamentally a message of hope.
