Snorri West Co-Director Mentee

The INLNA has an open Board position for a Snorri West Co-Director Mentee to work with Natalie Wirth, Leif Eiriksson Icelandic Club of Calgary and Jody Arman-Jones, Icelandic Hekla Club Minnesota.  You would be coming in as a mentee before taking over the Snorri West Co-Director position.  Ideally, we are looking for an American representative who would replace Jody in this important co-director role.

The Snorri Programs play a vital role in linking Iceland with people of Icelandic descent in North America and beyond. Established to nurture cultural ties, these initiatives have become pillars in preserving and celebrating Icelandic heritage.

The Snorri West program was developed as a unique extension of the original Snorri initiative. Its primary aim is to bring young Icelanders to North America, where they can experience first-hand the lives and histories of Icelandic settlers in Canada and the United States.

Snorri West began as a response to increasing interest among Icelandic youth to explore their North American heritage. Over time, it has evolved to include a carefully planned itinerary that covers key corridors of Icelandic settlement, such as Manitoba, North Dakota, Alberta, British Columbia, Washington State and Minnesota. The program rotates locations annually to offer broad exposure to the diversity of Icelandic communities across North America.

The program is managed by dedicated coordinators from both the United States and Canada serving as Snorri West Co-Directors on the INLNA Board.  They work closely with the Snorri organization in Iceland and the Icelandic National League of Iceland.

Please consider taking on this rewarding position of Snorri West Co-Director.  For more information and a detailed job description, please contact contact@inlofna.org.
